What is Re-Balance Pilates? And how is it different from traditional Pilates?
At Pilates Central Wellness we integrate the concepts of the Postural Restoration Institute with the principles of Joseph Pilates. Neurologically, physiologically and habitually the human body is asymmetrical. At Pilates Central Wellness we appreciate the normal asymmetry of the human body, especially the diaphragm; its impact on the human body and the predictable patterns the asymmetry dictates.
We’re proud to be the only Postural Restoration Center in Illinois. Our Re-BalancePilates classes were developed by the studio’s founder, Donna Parise Byrne PT, PRC, NCPT; they address this asymmetry and emphasize training proper diaphragmatic breath in coordination with abdominal control with each exercise. Our classes are designed to with the goal of ease of functional movement for every one’s individual ability level.
